Research interests:

Taxonomy, ontogeny, biology and zoogeography of Coleoptera especially Scarabaeoidea (scarabs) including taxonomy of immature stages.

Current projects:

Diversity (hot spots) of dung beetles in the transition zone between Palaearctic, Oriental and /or Afrotropical zoogeographic regions; Zoogeographical patterns of Scarabaeoidea in the Balkan Peninsula and Eastern Mediterranean; Catalogue of the Palaearctic Scarabaeoidea.

Field Experiences:

Balkan Peninsula and Turkey – repeatedly; Algeria, Azerbaijan, China, Iran, Mongolia, Morocco, Nepal, Portugal, Spain,Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Yemen incl. Socotra.
