Evolution, phylogeny, biosystematics, biology and comparative morphology of the Heteroptera, particularly taxon Pentatomomorpha. Complex study of Cimex species (Heteroptera: Cimicidae): population ecology, molecular biology, phylogeny and evolution, interaction with host, cytogenetics, comparative morphology. Complex study of scent glands in the Heteroptera: persistence and functionality of larval dorsal abdominal glands in the adults, comparative and functional morphology, ontogeny. Complex study of ultrastructure of midgut epithelium within the Arthropoda, particularly Myriapoda, Crustacea and Hexapoda: use in phylogenetic hypotheses; regeneration and degeneration including autophagy, importance of adaptations to various modes of feeding.
