On 26 September 2025, the first-ever Junior Faculty Conference 2025 at the Faculty of Science, Charles University brought together early-career researchers to discuss academic development, networking, and strategies for building a successful research environment.

RNDr. Ondřej Vaněk Ph.D., head of our laboratory and Vice-Head of the Junior Faculty Focus Group for Campus Development (FG4), delivered a talk titled
“To Live or Kill: Structural Immunology of Natural Killer Cell Recognition.”
Part of the conference was also a presentation by Czexpats in Science, which highlighted the factors influencing Czech scientists working abroad to return home and how we can make our institution more attractive to international researchers.
The Junior Faculty (JF) initiative aims to support starting principal investigators and contribute to the long-term development of the faculty, particularly in the context of the Albertov campus project. The conference highlighted how junior researchers help shape an internationally competitive and collaborative research environment.
