In her lecture, she spotlighted the opportunities offered by the powerful National NMR facility at Aveiro within the framework of \u201cPANACEA&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/web.natur.cuni.cz\/kfmch\/nanoengineering\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/mar-lect-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6589\" style=\"aspect-ratio:16\/9;object-fit:cover\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.natur.cuni.cz\/kfmch\/nanoengineering\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/mar-lect-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/web.natur.cuni.cz\/kfmch\/nanoengineering\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/mar-lect-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/web.natur.cuni.cz\/kfmch\/nanoengineering\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/mar-lect-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/web.natur.cuni.cz\/kfmch\/nanoengineering\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/mar-lect.jpg 1100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Mafra is the Principal Researcher and the Manager of the solid-state NMR facility at CICECO, recognized for his pioneering work in developing novel NMR spectroscopy methods, particularly for observing quadrupolar nuclei, which have earned him several prestigious awards, including the Celestino da Costa\/Jean Perrin prize (2006), Ant\u00f3nio Xavier-Bruker prize (2009), and a European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant (2020). In his lecture, Dr. Mafra illuminated the recent advancements in solid-state NMR spectroscopy for a molecular-scale understanding of the adsorption mechanisms of confined guest molecules in the context of heterogeneous catalysis and gas capture applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" our catalysis and electron microscopy laboratories, where hands-on discussions on synthesis, catalysis, imaging, and acidity characterization paved the way for exciting future
