Silvia was selected to give a talk at the Interdisciplinary Meeting of Young Researchers and Students in May 2026. She also had a talk at Mini-RNA Meeting in Želiv in November 2025. Viola and Jarmila had to leave the career panel discussion to go for a tequila shot, because the next time someone says that children are not an obstacle in science, we will show them the reviews of our grant applications.
Viola gave a talk about CrsL at the RNA Club 2025. The talk was very well received; we even got praise from GAČR for these results – yet no money for the next year. Just a lovely letter of acknowledgement, which we proudly put on our noticeboard.
Viola and Jarmila attended the Woodstock.Bio2 + Night Science in June 2025 with many unforgettable activities there, the highlight of which was the confession to the EMBO editor. It was great to share our experience with the bizarre peer-review process at this journal.
Silvia and Viola also attended the Microbes & RNA 2025 8th Meeting on Regulating with RNA in Bacteria and Archaea in Strasbourg and were the only ones not presenting about Hfq:)
