Jaroslav Kulda	Research interest: Cell biology of parasitic protozoa; anaerobic flagellates (trichomonads, Giardia and other metamonads); function of cell organelles; effect of drugs on metabolism and cell function of parasites; mechanisms of drug resistance.
Jiri Vávra (Emeritus)	Research interest: Biology, fine structure, host parasite relationships and phylogeny of parasitic protozoa (especially Microspora, Apicomplexa and Myxozoa).

Surface changes in trematode post-penetration and in vitro cultured larvae - ultrastructure, glycobiology. Host-trematode relations based on lectin-saccharide interactions. Model parasites: Diplostomum, Sanguinicola, schistosomatid and echinostomatid trematodes.
