In addition to dendrochronological sampling, we installed dendrometers and microclimate loggers (soil and air temperature and moisture\/humidity) to better understand climate-growth responses at high temporal resolution \u2013 our sensors record data at 30-minute intervals! The research is related to our <a href=\"https:\/\/web.natur.cuni.cz\/physgeo\/dendro\/projects\/#impacts-of-a-changing-climate-on-past-and-future-tree-growth-at-the-treeline\">GAUK<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/web.natur.cuni.cz\/physgeo\/dendro\/projects\/#using-forward-modelling-to-unravel-the-complex-climatic-control-on-intra-annual-tree-growth-at-cold-distribution-margins\">GACR<\/a> treeline projects, and additional funding was provided by the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/eu-interact.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">INTERACT<\/a> international network.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We conducted two international field campaigns in May and June to sample high-elevation pines in the Pyrenees (Pinus uncinata) and South Norway (Pinus sylvestris).
