Zeiss Elyra PS.1

The Zeiss Elyra PS.1 microscope utilizes technologies of structured illumination (SIM) and precise localization (PALM/STORM) to overcome the so-called diffraction barrier, which limits conventional light microscopy to a resolution of around 200 nm. Nanoscopy allows us to observe structures with 2-3x higher resolution with SIM and up to 5 nm with localization microscopy. The microscope utilizes TIRF (Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence) technology to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio in the space immediately adjacent to the cover glass. A set of high-quality lasers and cameras enables us to create exceptional super-resolution images.
