On November 2-3, 2016 a project kick-off meeting took place in the hotel U Špejcharu, Kopanina, not far from the mofette fields of the Cheb Basin. The meeting memo and selected presentations are available here.
In the beginning of October 2016 a final positive decision of ICDP on our project was delivered.
In June 2016 a positive decision of the ICDP was made on funding with the condition to submit an Addendum addressing several open issues. We submitted the Addendum in the first week of August. On May 20, 2016 online monitoring of gas pressure was installed
End of April 2016: the final depth of 108.5 m was reached; after 10 m in lower sand-clay layer and 17 m in basement (weathered mica schists), which both showed increased pressure due to CO2 contents.
On April 4, the borehole reached 15.5 m
On Thursday, March 31, 2016 preparation for drilling of the microbiologic borehole at Hartoušov started.
In February 2016 the place and time of the first ICDP borehole was chosen during a field meeting. The borehole will be focused on deep biosphere and drilling will start early April 2016 in the Hartoušov mofette field.
In January 2016 full proposal was submitted to the International Continental Drilling Program (ICDP)
