Team members

Tomáš focuses on comparative transcriptomics and genomics of neglected (non-model) microbial eukaryotes with special interest in Heterolobosea, ecologically and morphologically diverse group of microbial eukaryotes. He obtained his Ph.D. at Charles University under the supervision of prof. Ivan Čepička (2015) and spent four years as a postdoctoral fellow at the the Laboratory of protist genomics and evolution, University of Ostrava (with prof. Marek Eliáš). Tomáš was also awarded by Fulbright Grant for Scholars and Researchers and spent seven months in Dr. Matthew W. Brown laboratory, Mississippi State University, USA. He received Dean’s award for research excellence in 2017 (Faculty of Sciences, University of Ostrava) and the Dean’s award for the best young researcher in Biology for 2020 (Faculty of Sciences, Charles University).
