About us
We study the development & evolution of vertebrate cranial structures using a multiorganismal approach.
•
By comparing ontogenetic trajectories and morphogenetic patterns we are seeking for dissimilarities in developmental processes in order to discover key changes responsible for production of morphological variations, novelties, and for evolutionary change.
•
Using early embryonic & larval stages of vertebrates like the Sea lampreys, African bichirs, Tropicar gars, European sturgeons, or Mexican salamanders, our work provides many new insights into biology of cranial & trunk neural crest cells, developmental origin of jaws, evo-devo of teeth, or into ancient pharyngeal origins of craniofacial patterning.
