Stability analysis with hypoplasticity

Numerical modelling · Constitutive modelling · Stability analysis · FEM

This research direction focuses on slope and geotechnical stability analyses using hypoplastic constitutive models. Unlike conventional strength-based approaches, hypoplasticity describes soil behaviour as state dependent. The predicted stability is thus influenced not only by material parameters but also by stress history, density, structure and the current mechanical state of the soil. This allows stability problems to be analysed in a more physically consistent way, especially in cases involving progressive deformation, strain localization or changes in soil state during loading.
