Acceleration for numerical analyses in geotechnics

Numerical modelling · Constitutive modelling · Cyclic accumulation · FEM

This research direction focuses on acceleration strategies for computationally demanding geotechnical simulations, particularly analyses involving many repeated implicit cycles. The aim is to reduce the number of fully resolved numerical increments while preserving the essential evolution of stresses, deformations, state variables and soil–structure interaction. Current work combines detailed finite element simulations with extrapolation-based acceleration techniques for long-term cyclic response.
