Presentation Skills Course

Aim of the Course

This course was developed for PhD students in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at Charles University. It is also open to other interested students. The course focuses on practical experience, with an emphasis on discussions and mock presentations prepared by students.

Course Outline

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Means of presenting research work
  • Best practices for preparing a presentation
  • How to interact with your supervisor during preparation
  • Techniques for delivering an effective presentation
  • Responding to questions
  • Post-presentation improvements

Practical Component

Students will have the opportunity to prepare a presentation or poster, present it to their peers, and receive feedback on how to improve and what was done well.

Requirements to Pass

Students are required to actively participate in the course and either prepare or evaluate a presentation from their peers.
