* 2011: Head of the Vertebrate zoology Research group at the Zoology department.

* 2010: Laboratory for the study of craniofacial evolution & development constituted.

* 2005: Assistant professor at the Vertebrate Zoology, Department of Zoology, Charles University in Prague.

I spent more then 3 years at the Anatomical Institute, TU Dresden, Germany, in the lab of Hans-Henning Epperlein; and several times have been working at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, LA, USA, in the lab of Marianne Bronner-Fraser.

* 1999 - 2005: Ph.D. study of Zoology of Vertebrates, Charles University in Prague; Ph.D. research topics on evolutionary and developmental origin of anterior-most head structures (Ph.D. Thesis-pdf)

Ph.D. supervisors: Prof. Z. Roček (Department of Zoology, Charles University & Department of Palaeontology, Geological Institute Academy of Sciences, Prague) & Prof. H.-H. Epperlein (Institut für Anatomie, Medizinische Fakultät Carl-Gustav-Carus der TU Dresden, Germany).
My Thesis were reviewed by Prof. F. Galis (Institute of Biology, Leiden University, The Netherlands) and Prof. J. Hanken (Director of the Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University, Cambridge, USA).

* 1994 - 1999: Systematic Biology and Ecology studies at Palacký University, Olomouc;
MSc. theses "Feeding Ecology of two anuran species, P. fuscus and B. viridis on a sand locality in Bzenec-Přívoz".

I am a member of the European Society for Evolutionary Developmental Biology, Czech Zoological Society; Czech Anatomical Society; International Society of Vertebrate Morphologists and Czech Herpetological Society.


Together with Ivan Horáček and Frietson Galis we have organized the First and Founding meeting of this society in Prague, August 16-19, 2006.
