2025
For the 9th PhD Conference, we met at the Castle Kostelec nad Černými lesy, a beautiful venue close to Prague.
We were pleased to welcome Wolfgang Kastenmüller and Aleksandra (Ola) Kołodziejczyk as our keynote speakers, who shared their research and engaged with students during talks and poster sessions. The program again included a strong focus on scientific discussion, covering both fundamental research and its broader implications. Participants enjoyed student presentations, a poster session, a networking evening, and a short hike to the nearby Arboretum, bringing a relaxed and informal element to the meeting.

2024
For the 8th PhD Conference we had to switch venue location after the long tradition in Svatý Jan pod Skalou. The conference took place in Karolinum, the historical seat of Charles University in Prague. We had two exceptional invited speakers Clarissa Campbell (CeMM, Vienna) and Joris van der Veeken (IMP, Vienna), who shared their research and interacted with the students during their talks and posters. We discussed various aspects of project realisation, focusing on both basic research and the overlap to industry. This year’s special treat was the afterparty in the glasshouse of the botanical garden Na Slupi, which provided a truly beautiful ending to the conference.

2023
The 7th PhD Conference took place again in Svatý Jan pod Skalou. We had three amazing speakers Matteo Iannacone (Milan), Anetta Svitorka Härtlova (Gothenburg), and Matthew Hepworth (Manchester), who shared their research and interacted with the students during their talks and posters. We discussed the ups and downs of the publication process with our speakers and a guest scientist Ondřej Štěpánek. This year we also had a fun concert (Ultrapunk from Prague) and did a short hike to the viewpoint above Svatý Jan.

2022
After a two-year Covid break, the Conference came back in full style again in Svatý Jan pod Skalou. We were excited that our invitation was received by Carolyn King, Nicole Joller, and Graham Anderson.

This year the conference took place at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The keynote speakers were Paul Kubes and Marta Rizzi.
