About the European Conference on Comparative Neurobiology
For more than 25 years, the ECCN has provided a unique forum to present and discuss new developments in the wide field of comparative neuroscience. The 10th ECCN will be held in Prague.
The scientific program will start on Wednesday, June 22nd and continue until Friday, June 24th. The welcome reception will take place in the botanical garden on Wednesday evening and the conference will be concluded by a banquet dinner on Friday evening.
General information
Scope of the conference
Contributions providing insight into the evolution of brain structure and function in both vertebrates and invertebrates are welcome. Our aim is to cover a broad range of topics, including evo-devo anatomical, experimental and genomic/transcriptomic studies, neuroethological studies, quantitative studies addressing brain complexity evolution and its drivers, as well as paleontological studies addressing the evolution of brains through deep time.
About Prague
Prague is a vibrant, romantic city with rich history and culture. The conference takes place in a charming neighborhood within walking distance of the historic city center. Prague offers many excellent restaurants, coffee shops, and places to sample local beer at reasonable prices. It also boasts one of the world’s best zoos, definitely worth a visit. And the public transport is excellent and affordable, so getting around is easy. Prague also ranks among the safest cities in the world, COVID-19 cases are on the decline now (no special measures enforced) and, based on last year’s data, we expect virtually no cases in June.
Accommodation
There is ample accommodation (both hotels and Airbnb) to choose from in the vicinity and we are working on arrangements for discounted prices with selected hotels. See more information.
