📢 Welcome to the team, Tereza Vošická!

We are thrilled to welcome Tereza Vošická as a new PhD student in the Diatoms in Cryospheric Ecosystems (DiCE) group at Charles University!

Tereza recently completed her MSc at the Department of Ecology, where she explored diatom communities in Alpine glacier-fed streams using eDNA metabarcoding. Her Master thesis research was awarded 3rd prize for the best student presentation at the 15th European Diatom Meeting (2024, Ohrid). She also completed a research internship in the Protistology and Aquatic Ecology group (PAE) at Ghent University with Dr. Eveline Pinseel, gaining hands-on experience with molecular species delimitation and cryptic diversity in diatoms.

Tereza’s PhD will focus on cryptic species diversity and biogeographic patterns of diatoms in glacier-fed streams, and she will be co-supervised by Jan Kollár and Tyler Kohler.

Welcome, Tereza — we’re excited to have you on board!
