🧬 Welcome Pablo Cannestraci to DiCE!

We’re excited to welcome Pablo Cannestraci as a new PhD student in the Diatoms in Cryospheric Ecosystems (DiCE) group! Originally from Santiago, Chile, and currently based in La Paz, Bolivia, Pablo brings a rich background in microbial ecology and next-generation sequencing. His MSc research at Universidad Mayor de San Andrés focused on bacterial communities in high-altitude Andean lakes, and he’s worked with eDNA metabarcoding and MinION sequencing.

At DiCE, Pablo will explore biogeography of diatoms in proglacial habitats of the Antarctic Peninsula and Tierra del Fuego, and we’re thrilled to have him join our growing, international team!
