DiCE lab has a new logo

Our research group is pleased to introduce our new logo “DiCE” – Diatoms in Cryospheric Ecosystems. The logo depicts a transversal cut through a diatom revealing the two halves of its frustule with a blue DAPI-stained nucleus in the middle. It symbolizes our holistic approach to the study of diatoms, utilizing a multitude of methods and data kinds ranging from traditional microscopy-based techniques, through culturing and lab experimentation, up to molecular biology and bioinformatics.
