Aim of cooperation

The research project is carried out within the framework of the National Research Programme II in the field of action of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. 

Aim of project

The project aims to identify socio-spatial processes which have significant impacts on quality of life in cities and communities in the Czech Republic and to assess the role of institutions in influencing social and economic processes at local level.  Research objectives

  1. Describe socio-spatial differentiation and identify processes differentiating the spatial organization of society and significantly influencing the quality of life in cities and communities in the Czech Republic;
  2. Choose suitable methods and indicators (prepare database) to measure the influence of social-spatial processes on spatial distribution of functions located in communities and cities in the Czech Republic;
  3. Analyze selected social-spatial processes and prove their influence on spatial distribution of functions located in communities and cities in the Czech Republic;
  4. Analyze impacts of social-spatial processes and differentiated spatial distribution of functions on the quality of life in cities and communities in the Czech Republic;
  5. Assess the role of institutions and key actors in influencing the quality of life and propose suitable practices to reduce or eliminate excessive socio-spatial differentiation and marginalization of population in cities and communities in the Czech Republic;
  6. Present research outcomes.
