Resources
for our Future

No matter what the direction of the mankind is going to be like, the balance between conservation and exploitation of natural resources will be crucial. The challenge for future scientific research will be both in basic analysis of natural resources system and applied research focusing on their availability and exhaustibility.

Within IGSC 2015 Resources for our Future we offer you the opportunity to present research in one of the following areas: fossil fuels, mineral raw materials, metal deposits, geothermal energy, soil, water, air and radiation.

Engineering and
Environmental Problems

Within this branch of the technical program we call for all research dealing with the responsible human impact on the Earth and solving problems connected with the environment or engineering issues. Applied research in these areas of study solves daily base issues necessary for the future of the people.

Within IGSC 2015 Engineering and Environmental Problems we offer you the opportunity to present research in one of the following areas: carbon capture and storage, geomaterials and new materials, land use, water management, management of rural areas and metropolitan regions and air quality.

Geohazards

We face the unpredictable face of Mother Nature every day. Wild and impliable behavior of natural processes can impact our civilization in any moment. Hence it is necessary to get a fundamental grasp not only of their mechanisms, but also comprehend their time-lapse fluctuations.

Within IGSC 2015 Geohazards we offer you the opportunity to present research in one of the following areas: earthquakes and microseismicity, tsunamis, mass migration, volcanism, asteroid impacts, extreme meteorological events, flooding, greenhouse gases, glacial retreat, sea level rise and desertification.

Fundamental Research

Geoscientific research stimulates new ways of thinking, which have the potential to revolutionize and dramatically improve how geoscientists deal with challenges of the Earth system. It is especially important because fundamental research focus on falsifying or verifying new ideas and theories, which may not be utilized immediately but in the long term become the scientific foundation for many commercial products.

Within IGSC 2015 Fundamental Research we offer you the opportunity to present research in any of the manifold geosciences and their adjacent fields.
