Aim of cooperation

The study analyzes demographic development and its consequences, it interprets socioeconomic situation of the area and evaluates the quality of residential and physical environment in the housing estate of Kročehlavy in Kladno. The project was carried out within the Joint Regional Operational Program, Priority 3.3.

 

Research objectives

The study analyzes the current situation of social and physical environment in the housing estates of Kročehlavy in Kladno, which is one of the largest housing estates in Central Bohemia. The analyses consider potential risks of future development steaming from the aging of local population, possible degradation of physical and social environment and service facilities in the area.

Specific research objectives

- development of educational structure

- housing equipment

- Roma people and socially weak population

- social problems in the area - crime, delinquency, social exclusion

- development of unemployment

- economic activity

- social assistance

5. Analysis of residential environment

- structure and age of housing stock

- quality of residential environment, public spaces and housing stock

- price level of housing

Research outcome

The study brings a complex view on demographic, social, economic and architectural characteristics of housing estate environment. It points to social conflicts in the area and serious problems perceived by local population. The final part of each chapter summarizes the main results and offers some recommendations for possible future steps. The study is based on detailed data from Census 2001 and 1991, unique statistics for single houses and especially extensive field work.
