The Faculty of Sciences offers two programmes to achieve a master’s degree in micropalaeontology: A single-subject Geology programme and a Geobiology programme, where students take both geological and biological courses. The bachelor and master’s geological programmes are only in Czech language. The University organizes a one-year Czech language course for those who might be interested. Regarding the Ph.D. studies it is possible to study in English.
Essentials of Paleoceanography
A basic course dealing with the palaeoceanography discipline as a whole covering many fundamental aspects such as e.g. seawater chemistry, ocean circulation as well as a brief history of oceans and their evolution throughout the geological history.
Numerical data and their processing
An introduction into statistics and quantitative analyses in the geo- and biosciences, covering population analyses, point distribution and structure orientation analyses, morphometrics, biostratigraphy, and phylogeny.
Journal Club of the IGP
A discussion platform for highly motivated students to cultivate their openness and criticism to new or extraordinary ideas and to enhance their general overview regarding the broad variety of geological, paleontological, and general science topics.
