Teaching

The Faculty of Science offers two programmes leading to a Master’s degree in Micropalaeontology: A single subject Geology programme and a Geobiology programme, where students take both geological and biological courses. The bachelor’s and master’s programmes in Geology are offered in the Czech language only. The university organises a one-year Czech language course for those interested. It is possible to study in English at the doctoral level.

Essentials of Paleoceanography

A basic course dealing with the discipline of palaeoceanography as a whole, covering many fundamental aspects such as seawater chemistry, ocean circulation, and a brief history of the oceans and their evolution through geological time.

Journal Club of the IGP

A discussion platform for highly motivated students to cultivate their openness and criticism to new or extraordinary ideas and to enhance their general overview regarding the broad variety of geological, paleontological, and general science topics.
