Heme-Containing Sensor Proteins The Group of M. Martinkova

Prof. Gregg Semenza is the Nobel Prize laureate for Medicine and Physiology (2019) for discovering the hypoxia-induced factor and mechanism of oxygen sensing in eukaryotic cells.

Our paper on the tumour suppressor p53 and heme interaction has been accepted to be published in the Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry – “Vávra J., Sergunin A., Pompach P., Savchenko D., Hraníček J., Šloufová I., Shimizu T., Martínková M.: Characterization of the interaction between the tumour suppressor p53 and heme and its role in the protein conformational dynamics studied by various spectroscopic techniques and hydrogen/deuterium exchange coupled with mass spectrometry, J. Inorg. Biochem. 2023, in press“.

Markéta again met with His Excellency, Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Hideo Suzuki, on the occasion of Japan’s National Day to promote the Japan – Czech Republic cooperation at science and education.

During December 4 to 6 Markéta attended meeting with other TARGET members at Radboud University, Nijmegen, Netherlands (Václav and Petr were joined online).

First lab meeting in the new academic year 2022/2023 was held on Friday 4th of November, 2022
