GnotoCon

The Czech Immunological Society (CIS), Czech Young Immunologists (CYI), and IMIC jointly organized the program for celebration of the Day of Immunology in Prague.

The program started with GnotoCon, a symposium focused on gnotobiology in Czech Republic. This year, we celebrated what would have been the 100th birthday of prof. Jaroslav Šterzl, the founder of CIS and Czech gnotobiology as a whole. First lecture was given by Helena Tlaskalová-Hogenová on the history of gnotobiology in Czech Republic. This was followed by short student talks from several labs, who are currently using gnotobiolocigal models in their research. Iva and Evžen represented our lab in this segment with talks introducing their respective use of germ-free and gnotobiological animals in their projects.

In the afternoon the celebration continued with the annual CIY mixer, with this year’s overarching theme being “Brain and Immunity”.
