We are thrilled to announce that the 10th Jubilee T Cell Workshop will take place in Prague on September 3–4, 2026!
Organized by Czech Young Immunologists (CYI) in collaboration with the Czech Immunological Society (CIS), this year’s theme—“T cells & friends – the rich tapestry of Immunology”—brings together leading experts, young researchers, and hands-on scientific training.
As part of the program, VMCF (Viničná Microscopy Core Facility & Flow Cytometry) is proud to host hands-on practical sessions on Day 2!

Full first day program
Day 2: Practical Session – Hands-on Demonstrations
- When: Friday, September 4, 2026
- Where: Multi-venue practical workshops, including VMCF:
- 🔬 Venue 3: Faculty of Science – Viničná Microscopy Core Facility (VMCF)
- This workshop will introduce participants to three fluorescence imaging techniques: virtual slide microscopy (Axioscan), confocal microscopy, and light-sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM). Demonstrations will use intestinal samples from MHC II-EGFP knock-in mice, in which MHC II-expressing cells fluoresce green, and from MHC II-EGFP knock-in mice crossed with a tdTomato reporter line, in which, in addition to EGFP⁺ antigen-presenting cells, all cell membranes are labeled with membrane-localized tdTomato.
- The workshop will begin with a brief introduction to the principles of fluorescence microscopy. Participants will then explore virtual slide imaging using tissue sections, followed by confocal microscopy of cryosectioned intestinal tissue. Finally, the principles and applications of light-sheet fluorescence microscopy will be demonstrated using a cleared intestinal sample. Participants who are interested will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with both confocal and light-sheet microscopy.
